What is It?

An international campaign aimed at mobilizing young people in the developed world.

How did it begin

When Kevin Kilroy, a teenage girl from Los Angeles, found out about the problem of unsafe water in Niger and the daily struggle of Nigerien girls walking many miles every day helping ther mothers get water, a campaign was born.

The Goal

Inspire and support young people to help girls in Niger, West Africa, the second poorest country in the world.

What was the spark?

Girls in Niger can't go to school because all their time is taken up with getting water. The result? 85% of women in Niger are illiterate. When Kevin imagined herself in their shoes, trekking for hours everyday and unable to go to school, she knew she had to do something.
